At the frontier when it helps. Deliberate when it doesn't.
We actively explore new AI capabilities and apply them where they genuinely fit, especially in regulated environments where privacy and operational risk matter as much as the upside.
Core Philosophy
01
Documentation before AI.
We don't start with the technology. We start by mapping the workflow, the handoffs, and the constraints. AI only enters the picture once we understand where it would genuinely reduce friction rather than add a new system to maintain.
02
The right tool, honestly.
For some organizations the right answer is a carefully designed AI workflow. For others it is a cleaner process, better documentation, or an integration that removes administrative burden without introducing new complexity. We'll tell you which, and why.
03
Built for regulated work.
We have experience shaping compliant AI systems in environments governed by HIPAA, FERPA, and similar requirements. Privacy, policy, and operational risk are part of the design from the start, not bolted on at the end.
04
Your team learns the tools, not just the system.
We help teams adopt off-the-shelf AI tools like Claude, GPT, and Copilot effectively, with practical guardrails, prompt strategies, and workflows tailored to the organization. The goal is not just to deploy AI. It is to make sure your people are confident and competent using it.
What This Looks Like in Practice
Compliant AI Infrastructure
We deploy AI capabilities through providers like AWS Bedrock under formal Business Associate Agreements and data sharing agreements. Client data stays within isolated, compliant environments—it is never used to train models, never shared across tenants, and retention policies are honored by contract. This is how we make AI viable in healthcare, legal, and education settings where most vendors cannot operate.
Permission-Gated AI Reporting
We pioneered a specialized approach to AI-generated reporting where outputs are scoped to each user’s role and permissions within the organization. Access boundaries are enforced at the AI layer, not just the application layer—so a department lead, a clinician, and an administrator each see exactly what they are authorized to see. Nothing more.
“IMS makes it seamless for developers to integrate specialized models while users benefit from consistently high-quality responses.”
— Yidi Sprei, Intelligent Model Selection (2023)
In 2023 our founder published a whitepaper on Intelligent Model Selection, exploring how dynamic model routing can replace the one-size-fits-all approach to large language models. That thinking shapes how we scope AI work today. The right tool for the right task, chosen deliberately.
“The AI legal research system alone has transformed how we approach case preparation and took us further than anything currently available. If you’re a firm that’s serious about using technology as a competitive advantage, Yidi’s Consulting is exactly who you want in your corner.”
— Founder & Managing Partner, Gerschel Law
Good software is
simple.
We get it. Whether it's insurance billing or inventory management, your company handles some pretty complex stuff. You don't need software to complicate things even more.

Simple to map.
Before we write a single line of code, we write it in plain English. We provide crystal-clear blueprints, roadmaps, and documentation so you always know exactly what we are building and why. No black boxes.
Simple to build.
We build exactly what you need—nothing more, nothing less. By stripping away unnecessary features and focusing on core value, we deliver lean, fast, and highly scalable custom solutions that solve real business problems.
Simple to learn.
The best software in the world is useless if your team refuses to use it. We build intuitive tools and provide comprehensive, hands-on training so your people can hit the ground running from day one.
Simple to use.
Great design is invisible. We create interfaces that feel incredibly natural and workflows that require zero guesswork. We reduce friction so your team can focus on their actual work, not on fighting the software.
Simple to maintain.
We don't vanish the day your software goes live. We write clean, sustainable code and stick around as your dedicated technical partners, ensuring your systems stay secure, updated, and effortless to maintain as you grow.
I started this firm because I believe technology should eliminate bottlenecks, not create new ones. Whether you're wrestling with a legacy system or building from scratch, let's sit down and map out a solution that actually works for your team.

Both. We frequently rescue and modernize messy legacy systems, turning tangled code into clean, efficient engines. If you're starting from zero, we map and build lean, highly scalable platforms from the ground up.
We prefer to act as long-term technical partners to handle ongoing maintenance, system updates, and evolving features as your business grows. However, staying on is entirely your choice. If you prefer to manage systems in-house after handoff, we provide thorough documentation so your team can take over seamlessly.
Absolutely. We regularly build secure infrastructure for healthcare practices and law firms. We ensure all data handling, consent forms, and document storage meet the strict regulatory standards your industry requires.
You do. For custom builds, 100% of the code and documentation belongs to your organization. If you opt to use one of our pre-built frameworks or CRM templates to save development time and costs, it comes with a one-time perpetual license. You retain complete operational freedom—you can maintain the system with us, bring it in-house, or hand it off to another team at any time.
No. We don’t mark up third-party services or act as a billing middleman. If your solution requires external infrastructure (such as AWS, hosting, or software licenses), you pay those providers directly so you maintain full control of your accounts. If needed, we walk you through setting up and configuring those accounts during the build.
It depends on the scope and complexity of the initiative. Capturing your institutional knowledge is critical to building software that actually fits your workflow, so we invest heavily in upfront research, mapping, and documentation. While we aim to keep day-to-day disruption minimal, we collaborate closely with your key staff to ensure every operational detail is captured accurately.
Not at all. We support your technology goals in whatever capacity makes sense for your operations. For some clients, that means high-level strategic advisory or process optimization; for others, it’s building a lightweight low-code tool, integrating existing software, or engineering a full custom system. We recommend only the level of technical intervention you actually need.
Because no two operational environments are identical, we tailor our engagements to the client. Depending on your project’s scope, timeline, and required ongoing support, we work on a project-based fee, an hourly basis, a recurring retainer that sets a dedicated maintenance budget, or a combination of these. Contact us to discuss your goals, and we will outline a structure that fits your needs.
A note on how we got here.
I've been writing code since high school, when my very first project was trying to build a chess engine from scratch.
Over time, that early interest evolved into a career rooted in solving complex data problems. I led development for nonprofits like Erase the Line and The Civil Discourse Project, engineering specialized classification algorithms, and directed full-scale development for platforms like Infuzu. Today, alongside the consulting firm, I regularly contribute to open-source projects, stay at the forefront of applied AI research, and build broader technical initiatives through our parent company, Yidi Enterprises.
But throughout all that highly technical work, I kept noticing a completely different problem when talking to business owners. They knew exactly how their daily operations should run, but they were stuck using software that forced them into awkward, manual workarounds. When they tried to hire out for custom solutions, they were often handed bloated platforms full of features they didn't need, built by developers who didn't understand what their actual day-to-day work looked like.
There was a clear gap between writing advanced code and actually solving an operational headache. I realized people didn't just need an engineer; they needed someone who would sit down and map exactly how their practice runs.
"I realized people didn't just need an engineer; they needed someone who would sit down and map exactly how their practice runs."
I started this practice to do exactly that: to build software that adapts to the business, rather than forcing the business to adapt to the software.
What started as an effort to rescue a few tangled systems slowly grew into a specialized consulting firm. As we took on larger projects for healthcare practices, law firms, and operational businesses, we realized the core problem was rarely a lack of technology. It was the friction caused by it—teams manually copying data across disconnected screens, losing hours to clunky interfaces, and battling expensive software subscriptions that refused to integrate. So we built our team and our process around doing the exact opposite.
Today, we don't just write custom code—we act as long-term technical partners. Our goal is to take messy spreadsheets, manual document handoffs, and outdated legacy tech, and replace them with clean, custom infrastructure that works quietly in the background so you can get back to doing your actual job.

Our Process
-
01
Document.
We sit with your team and write down how the work actually happens: every step, handoff, and workaround.
-
02
Refine.
Together we find where complexity can be reduced, what risk needs a guardrail, and where technology can genuinely help.
-
03
Deliver.
We build exactly what fits—custom software, automation, or process refinement—train your team, and stay on as technical partners.
